Requiring public assistance, Glencoe Detectives are looking for Bheki Buthelezi, a man wanted in connection with the murder of 23-year-old Siyabonga Buthelezi.
Lieutenant Colonel Nqobile Gwala, the KZN police spokesperson, explains that on 11 February 2022, around 9 pm, Siyabonga was asleep in his house with his girlfriend in Sithembile Township in Glencoe.
While in bed, the girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend, Bheki, arrived at the house.
“The ex-boyfriend kicked the door open, and the girlfriend ran out of the house to get assistance from the neighbours,” says Lieutenant Colonel Gwala.
While the woman fled to seek assistance, Siyabonga was stabbed in the neck and chest.
Gwala explains, “He managed to run out of the yard to a house nearby, where he fell and died shortly afterwards. The suspect fled the scene after the incident and has been on the run since then.”
Glencoe SAPS is currently investigating the murder case, and the Glencoe Detectives are appealing to members of the community for assistance in locating 47-year-old Bheki Buthelezi.
“We appeal to anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to contact the investigating officer detective Captain Maharaj on 082 411 7162 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Gwala concludes.
