After an exhaustive search spanning over two months, missing 17 year old Tyisha Niemand has finally been found.

Tyisha was initially reported missing on 13 June 2023, last seen at Newcastle High School. During her disappearance, she was observed changing from her school uniform into more casual clothing.

Since her vanishing, Newcastle residents rallied together in the pursuit of finding Tyisha with Newcastle SAPSMissing Children South AfricaNewcastillian News, and Renegades Search and Rescue, collaborating in their efforts to enlist public assistance in locating the young girl.

Newcastillian News issued appeals for community support on both 6 July and 26 July 2023, actively galvanising the community’s involvement in the search. Concurrently, law enforcement personnel worked tirelessly to uncover her whereabouts.

Thankfully, on Monday, 28 August 2023, Renegades Search and Rescue joyfully announced that Tyisha had been located and was safe. The team expressed their gratitude for the collective effort that led to finding Tyisha Niemand.

Confirming her discovery, Newcastle SAPS disclosed that Tyisha was found in Port Shepstone, and she is presently under the care of the Port Shepstone Department of Social Development.

As Tyisha Niemand is reunited with her family, heartfelt appreciation is extended to all those who participated in the quest to locate her and bring closure to her family.
