A man was found dead alongside the N11, at the Durnacol turn-off this afternoon, 30 March 2021.
According to a source on the scene, he had noticed the deceased’s vehicle earlier today when travelling on the busy road. “It was only when I drove past again and saw a truck pull over, and the driver approach the vehicle, did I stop and get out.”
He and the truck driver were horrified to discover the vehicle’s driver was deceased behind the steering wheel. The source claims, “His car keys are still in the bakkie, and so is his cellphone.” Police officials on the scene declined to comment—therefore, we are unable to provide a cause of death at this stage but will follow up. Officials are still at the scene, and motorists are encouraged to drive with caution.
