Shortly before 6 am this morning, August 29, emergency services responded to a collision on the N11, near the Utrecht turn-off.
On arrival, the emergency services found a bakkie had collided with a truck. The driver of the bakkie sustained critical injuries and the Jaws of Life had to be used to free him from the wreckage.

“After an extensive team effort between the various emergency services, the patient was freed and taken to the local hospital,” says Jan-Henk van Vuuren of WATCO Emergency Medical Services.
The cause of the collision is unknown at present. Traffic was severely backed up in both directions.

Please travel safe and when travelling on the N11, be conscious of animals on the road. Do not speed and always wear your seatbelt.
