A suspected burglar was shot in the foot after allegedly attempting to enter a home in Hutten Heights during the early hours of 16 July 2026.
According to Jan van Rensburg of Magenta Security, the precise circumstances surrounding the incident have yet to be officially confirmed.

However, initial information indicates that the suspect attempted to gain entry to a residential property on Impala Drive.
The homeowner reportedly awoke during the alleged break-in and retrieved his firearm before shooting the suspect in the foot.
Van Rensburg explained;
“Details are still uncertain at this point, but during the break-in, the homeowner allegedly shot the burglar in the foot. The suspect then fled the scene, with Magenta Guards tracking the suspect down, taking him into custody and handing him over to the relevant authorities.”
