Traffic on the N11, just past Waterside Wimpy, Newcastle was disrupted on Tuesday afternoon, 4 June 2024, following a collision involving a truck and a Haval SUV.
The accident occurred just outside Newcastle, on the road towards Ladysmith, prompting emergency personnel to respond to the scene.
While the exact cause of the collision remains unclear, both vehicles sustained significant damage. The truck lay on its side, and debris from both vehicles was scattered along the road.
A paramedic from KwaZulu Private Ambulance reported that three individuals were injured in the incident. All three were assessed at the scene before being transported to hospital by ambulance services.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and to always adhere to the rules of the road. The incident is under investigation by the police.
