An official source at the scene commented, “The circumstances around the crash are still a bit unclear and need to be investigated, but it is suspected that the one vehicle was attempting to make a turn, when the other crashed into it.”

The force of the impact sent the Toyota hurtling across the road, eventually coming to a bone-jarring halt on the pavement. It narrowly missed the trees and two holes lining the roadside before striking a water meter, causing a deluge of water to cascade out. Once the vehicle came to a standstill it end up facing the opposite direction to its intended travel.

Despite the terrifying spectacle and significant damage to both vehicles, a paramedic from KwaZulu-Private Ambulance explained that miraculously, there were no serious injuries.

With emergency personnel on scene to assist the occupants of the vehicles, and clear the scene, motorists are being encouraged to practice caution when driving.
