While the precise circumstances leading to the crash are yet to be fully determined, a source on the scene claimed that the truck was driving along Albert Wessels Drive towards the Riverside Industrial Area when the collision occurred.

“The driver of the bakkie was driving from the Industrial Area and had attempted to overtake the vehicle in front of him. It was then that the vehicles crashed,” said the source.

The force of the impact resulted in the bakkie overturning onto its side, with the driver sustaining injuries as a consequence. The severity of the injuries remains uncertain, as emergency medical personnel were attending to the injured party at the time of reporting.
