Considering the significant presence of Pakistani residents in Newcastle and surrounding towns within the Amajuba District, establishing a strong relationship with the High Commissioner of Pakistan was deemed essential.

Lizzy Arumugam, the spokesperson for Newcastle SAPS, stated, “The purpose of the Pakistan High Commissioner’s visit was to strengthen ties between the Amajuba District SAPS and the local Pakistani communities.”

The meeting took place on Sunday, 14 May 2023, at Grey Goose Game Lodge, providing an opportunity for General Alexander and the Pakistani delegation to engage in a cordial meet-and-greet session. Arumugam affirmed that the meeting proceeded smoothly.
