Loadshedding results in water cuts in Dannhauser

As South Africans contend with loadshedding, Dannhauser residents are now facing water restrictions due to the power outages.

A public notice from the Amajuba District Municipality states that in Dannhauser, Durnacol and surrounding areas, water levels in reservoirs are extremely low—due to the ongoing loadshedding by Eskom. “We have already been forced to close water outlets in some parts of Dannhauser, like Durnacol.”

According to the Amajuba District Municipality, the Dannhauser reservoir is currently sitting at 30%. Therefore, they will be closing in the next few hours to allow the water levels to pick up. In its statement, the government highlighted, “Our team will be monitoring the situation regularly and open when there is sufficient water.”

Water tankers have already been dispatched to assist the areas already affected. What are your thoughts on the matter?
