Weekend Weather Forecast for Newcastle, Ladysmith and Vryheid

As winter’s crisp embrace tightens its hold on KwaZulu-Natal, residents of Newcastle, Ladysmith, and Vryheid should brace for a weekend of varied weather conditions from Friday, 11 July 2025, to Sunday, 13 July 2025.  

While Friday may offer a brief spell of milder weather, a strong cold front is expected to move in, driving temperatures down sharply, especially at night.

The weekend will also bring stronger winds and scattered showers across the region. With this in mind, we turn to AccuWeather to explore what the weekend holds for Newcastle, Ladysmith, and Vryheid.

Friday, 11 July 2025:  

Newcastle: A moderately warm day is anticipated, with temperatures expected to reach 22°C. Evening temperatures are forecast to plummet to a brisk 1°C.

Ladysmith: A pleasantly mild day is projected, with temperatures reaching 25°C. Evening temperatures are expected to drop to a cool 1°C.  

Vryheid: A sunny day is forecast, with temperatures peaking at 24°C. Evening temperatures, however, are set to fall to a chilly 2°C.

Saturday, 12 July 2025:  

Newcastle: Despite clear, sunny skies, a cooler day is expected, with temperatures reaching 16°C. Evening conditions are forecast to cool further to 6°C, with rainfall anticipated during the night.  

Ladysmith: A cooler day is on the horizon, with temperatures expected to reach 17°C. Evening temperatures are forecast to drop to 7°C.  

Vryheid: A cooler day is predicted, with temperatures peaking at 15°C., and this is expected to be accompanied by scattered showers. Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall to 8°C.

Sunday, 13 July 2025:

Newcastle: A slightly warmer day is forecast, with temperatures expected to peak at 21°C. Nighttime temperatures are set to drop to a chilly 3°C.  

Ladysmith: A moderately warm day is anticipated, with temperatures reaching 21°C. Evening temperatures are expected to be a brisk 5°C.  

Vryheid: A cool conclusion to the weekend is forecast, with temperatures peaking at 19°C. Evening temperatures are expected to fall to 5°C.
