Following an intense manhunt, two men are now in police custody in connection with a shooting in Dundee, KwaZulu-Natal. The attack, believed to be a robbery, left four people dead, including a teenage girl.

KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, detailed the events that unfolded in Dundee on Friday evening, 23 May 2025.
According to Colonel Netshiunda, two male victims, aged 31 and 35, were outside a residence in the Mzomusha area when two perpetrators approached and opened fire without warning.
“The suspects then proceeded inside the house, where there were three people. It is further reported that the suspects demanded money and drugs from a 29-year-old woman. A scuffle reportedly ensued between one suspect and the identified woman which led to her being shot multiple times. The suspects allegedly searched her and took an undisclosed amount of money,” stated Colonel Netshuinda.
He further added, that a 14-year-old girl was also shot multiple times and passed away at the scene.
Remarkably, two individuals inside the house—a woman and a man who managed to escape after hearing the initial gunshots—survived the onslaught unharmed.
Furthermore, Colonel Netshuinda indicated that while robbery is the primary suspected motive for these killings, a drug-related dispute cannot be ruled out.

Adding to this, Colonel Netshiunda confirmed that both men suspected of the quadruple murder were apprehended in the Dundee CBD on Sunday evening, 25 May 2025. The investigation has now been taken over by detectives from the Provincial Organised Crime unit. This specialised unit is tasked with investigating complex and serious crimes, including organised crime activities like aggravated robberies.
