Friday, 18 April 2025:

Newcastle: A crisp day is forecast, with temperatures reaching 20°. Evening temperatures are expected to drop to 9°.

Ladysmith: A cloudy day is anticipated, with temperatures climbing to 20°. Evening temperatures are forecast to fall to 9°.

Vryheid: A cool day is expected, with temperatures peaking at 20°. Nighttime temperatures are predicted to settle at 8°.

Saturday, 19 April 2025:

Newcastle: A warm day is forecast, with temperatures rising to 23°. Morning showers and an afternoon thunderstorm are also on the cards for the day. Evening temperatures are expected to cool to 9°.

Ladysmith: Warmer conditions are anticipated, with temperatures reaching 23°. Evening temperatures are predicted to settle at 10°.

Vryheid: A mostly sunny day is forecast, with temperatures climbing to 23°. Nighttime temperatures are expected to fall to 9°.

Sunday, 20 April 2025:

Newcastle: A fine day is predicted, with temperatures peaking at 24°. Evening temperatures are forecast to drop to 10°.

Ladysmith: A delightful day is expected, with temperatures rising to 26°. Evening temperatures are predicted to cool to 11°.

Vryheid: A comfortable day is forecast, with temperatures reaching 24°. Evening temperatures are expected to settle at 11°.

Monday, 21 April 2025:

Newcastle: A sunny day is anticipated, with temperatures peaking at 23°. Evening temperatures are forecast to dip to 12°.

Ladysmith: A predominantly sunny day is expected, with temperatures reaching 24°. Evening temperatures are predicted to fall to 13°.

Vryheid: Temperatures are forecast to peak at 23°, with a comfortable day anticipated. Nighttime temperatures are expected to drop to 14°.

While AccuWeather forecasts favourable conditions for Newcastle, Ladysmith, and Vryheid, the South African Weather Service (SAWS) indicates that temperatures across South Africa will remain cool to warm over the long weekend. Moreover, SAWS also notes that a surface trough, supported by an upper-air trough, will affect the western interior on Sunday, 20 April 2025, potentially bringing isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers to the western interior, southern, and south-eastern regions of the country from Sunday through Monday.
