The first collision occurred shortly after 2 pm at the intersection of Victoria Road and Impala Drive.

Although the exact circumstances of the crash are unclear, Charles Steyn from Magenta Emergency Medical Services explained that the collision occurred as two vehicles were attempting to cross the busy intersection. One vehicle was turning into Victoria Road, heading towards town, while the second vehicle was turning into Impala Drive from Victoria.

It is speculated that during the crossing, the drivers were in each other’s blind spots and failed to see each other. Two people were injured, but fortunately, their injuries were not serious.

The second incident transpired shortly after 3 pm at the intersection of Sutherland Street and Kirkland Street. Although the exact nature of the collision is not clear, it is speculated that the two vehicles collided under very similar conditions to the incident at Victoria Road and Impala Drive. No injuries were reported in this incident.

Following the two crashes, Steyn urged motorists to practice caution at intersections, reminding drivers to ensure the road is clear before crossing.

  1. This is an ongoing problem, our traffic department is absent not traffic officials in this town or they lounging in their cars because it is too hot or too cold to do their jobs.. Drivers have not respect for the rules of the roads.. Taxis just turn right in front of you go through red lights, double parking, changing lanes without indicators.. Pedestrian jawalking in numbers, drinking openly in public… You never see Traffic officials at any busy intersections. The head of the traffic department needs to be fired.. They are useless to the core
