Charles Steyn of Magenta Emergency Medical Services provided insights into the aftermath of the collision, confirming that the motorist emerged fortunate to escape unscathed.

However, the vehicle sustained substantial damage, and tragically, the horse did not survive the encounter.

Reflecting on the incident, Steyn emphasised the importance of caution when driving at night. “Ensure you have clear vision, look for stray animals, and be aware of your environment,” he advised. These precautions, Steyn elaborated, are crucial for minimising the risk of incidents involving pedestrians and stray animals.

The incident serves as a poignant reminder of the potential dangers on the road, especially during nighttime travel.
