Newcastle’s Khosi wins Big Brother and $100K

Newcastle’s very own Makhosazane Twala, popularly known as Khozi, has been named the winner of the inaugural season of Big Brother Titans.

Khosi, a 25-year-old journalist, outlasted 24 housemates from Nigeria and South Africa to take home the grand prize of $100,000.

The announcement was made on Sunday, 2 April 2023, marking the end of a grueling 78-day competition that tested the contestants’ physical and mental endurance. Khosi’s victory was well-deserved, having strategised and formed alliances from day one, showcasing her talents and outlasting all her competitors.

DSTV, the broadcaster that spearheaded Big Brother Titans, noted that Khosi’s decision to audition for the show was a gamble that paid off. “With quick fame and $100,000 at stake, it seemed like a good bet to fast-track her dreams,” the broadcaster said.

Khosi, who originally hails from Osizweni, a township in Newcastle, moved to Johannesburg to pursue her journalism career. Her win has been celebrated by her hometown, with the Newcastillian News extending a heartfelt congratulations to the young journalist.

The inaugural season of Big Brother Titans has been a hit with viewers, with millions tuning in to watch the drama unfold. The show’s success has sparked speculation about a second season, although no official announcement has been made yet.
