Expanding on their offerings, long-standing local business, Ithemba Racing now welcomes a first for Newcastle, KwaZulu-Natal—RunIthemba Mini-Courier.

According to Ithemba Racing’s Dawood and Alicia Beyers, who will be spearheading the initiative, the mini-courier’s new style of light loads, quick times and low costs provide a unique new service to the local community.

“We will be using a mini-fleet of scooters, where we will pick up parcels and drop off at the required address,” explained Dawood.

Additionally, Alicia stated that these parcels range from legal documents that need to be collected from lawyers and dropped off at a client’s home or office. Or, a child’s school lunch that was forgotten at home and needs to be taken to school. Even prescription medication will be collected for customers, according to the two.

“It can even be a school assignment, where a mother doesn’t have transport to take it to school, or a businessman working from home who needs a project taken to his office quickly,” explained Alicia.

However, as affirmed by both Dawood and Alicia, RunIthemba Mini-Courier would not transport any illicit substances, weapons or deliver food from takeaway outlets.

With this said, Alicia and Dawood emphasised that RunIthemba is built on the back of their highly established, national company, Itemba Racing. As stated by the two, this ensures that RunIthemba Mini-Courier is able to successfully cater to the community, professionally and with precision.

Nevertheless and according to Dawood, operating the mini-courier service with scooters assures that customers can expect their parcels delivered timeously. This is unlike many other courier services which require a number of parcels in their vehicles before they can carry out a delivery—let alone the cost.

“As we will be using scooters, we will also have a 2kg weight limit and operate in a 10km radius within Newcastle.”

Discussing the company’s ethos, Dawood emphasised, “RunIthemba will be run on three principles; Turnaround time, Effectiveness and Integrity.”

Moreover, Alicia highlighted that RunIthemba would truly be affordable, allowing people to cut their transport costs, thereby, allowing Newcastillians a city-style service at “Newcastle friendly rates”.

“RunIthemba will only charge R50 per parcel for a pickup and delivery. But we must note, to ensure all deliveries are done swiftly and efficiently, our drivers cannot wait at the drop-off points after the delivery has been made,” stated Alicia.

Be sure to look out for the RunIthemba scooters and “we look forward to adding a useful and needed service to our home town,” concluded Dawood.
