Paul Duverge, Managing Director of Raw Africa Boutique Collection (formerly Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection) a privately-owned hospitality management and marketing group that owns and operates independent accommodation offerings in the Western Cape, has announced that they are to host a fundraiser golf day #TeeOff4TheYouth.

“Our focus has always been about uplifting our community and recently after discussions with local municipalities it came to my notice that the local Mayor’s Annual Golf Day Fundraiser was cancelled as they had no funding to continue with the initiative”.

This disclosure led to Duverge stepping in with a generous offer of granting them the use of Sky Villa Boutique Hotel’s #TeeOff4Tourism brand for their fundraising efforts.

With the objective being to raise funds for the youth the Fundraiser, under the brand banner of #TeeOff4TheYouth and in collaboration with Raw Africa Boutique Collection and Sky Villa Boutique Hotel will take place at the Gary Player designed, 18-hole, 72-par Goose Valley Golf Course in Plettenberg Bay on Friday 3 June 2022.

On Friday 3 June at 10am a shotgun start will get the ball rolling. The format followed will be that of a Texas Scramble (a form of team competition in golf that was extremely popular in Texas back in the 1950s). A Texas Scramble has all members of a team (usually 3 or 4 players) tee off – once all have teed off the team decides which drive is the best and all then place their golf balls where the chosen drive ended up and play a second shot from this spot – from the second shots the best is again selected, and all play a third shot and so on…until the ball is holed. Each team returns one score for each hole and the team with the lowest score for the round wins.

All proceeds, after expenses, from #TeeOff4TheYouthwill be allocated to local youths, some local charity organisations and bursaries for Raw Africa Boutique Collection’s newly launched Garden Route Hotel School.

“Teeing off for our youth will afford the mayoral fund the opportunity to set deserving candidates on a path to greater opportunities, achievements, and to foster a spirit of ubuntu.“

Mr David Swart, Executive Mayor, Bitou Municipality

Said Duverge, “We’re looking for local businesses to contribute in any way they can and to show support by taking part in the day, and don’t forget there’ll be lots of great prizes up for grabs. Both Raw Africa Boutique Collection and Sky Villa Boutique Hotel take great pride in providing support and sponsorship to local business and the community where they can and affording the Mayor’s Golf Day fundraiser the opportunity to use our TeeOff4Tourism brand goes a long way in showing our commitment to our local community.”
