Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection’s dream project of a bio-diverse, eco-estate with specialist mountain bike trails right in the middle of Plett, has finally become a reality.
To mark the official opening of the brand-new Sky Trails Plettenberg Bay, Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection will be hosting a fun, family-friendly Sky XC Enduro 2021 event at Sky Villa Boutique Hotel, Barons View Estate, Plettenberg Bay on Saturday 4 December 2021 from 8am to 3pm.
The dream to create a specialist ‘mountain biking hub’ in Plettenberg Bay led to the purchase of a 500-hectare property below one of the premier establishments of Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection – the 5-star Sky Villa Boutique Hotel.
To construct, manage and help grow the mountain biking and trails component of its masterplan the group teamed up with a local Trail Association, Trail Lynx – the organiser of this, the first official event at the brand-new Sky Trails.
The Sky XC Enduro 2021 event – in an “Enduro” race format – is for all riders. In an Enduro only the downhill segments of the route are timed – for this event there will be six timed stages and riders will wear a time-chip on their wrist, clocking in and out at the top and bottom of each run. The total ride is about 20km with 600m elevation. The fastest time over ALL six stages, is the winner. Entries in categories by age at registration (ID number required). E-bikes welcome.

Time: 08h00 – 15h00
07h00: Registration at Sky Villa Boutique Hotel (sign indemnity, collect time chips)
08h30: Race briefing and ride-out to the stages (traditionally riders pre-ride the trails a few times to prepare themselves, but as no dangerous features the ride will be ‘blind’ – exactly what true enduro is all about)
±11h30: Prize-giving, lunch and fun festivities
