Always at the forefront of innovation in the hospitality industry, Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection, a privately-owned hospitality management and marketing group that owns and operates independent accommodation offerings in the Western Cape, is changing its name to Raw Africa Boutique Collection.

This small, but significant name change marks the latest step forward in the Cape Summer Villas Boutique Collection’s success story and reflects the natural ‘moving onwards and upwards’ attitude that is a characteristic of the Collection.

Managing Director, Paul Duverge explained that in keeping with the Collection’s long term group growth strategy, the decision to name change and rebrand to Raw Africa Boutique Collection came about after a planning process that considered the next level of expansion, positioning, and performance.

“Through evaluating our strategy and growth forecast, we recognised that the Collection has the potential to outgrow its Western Cape footprint. We are now moving forward, aggressively pursuing plans to expand our offerings within our Collection. With that in mind and for our expansion plans to succeed, we believe that a name change, and rebranding is in order.”

“The acronym of Raw (R for real, A for authentic and W for wanderlust) started out as a working title, but we realised that it was in fact most apt. It’s simple, short, relevant and incorporates all the qualities of the Collection’s properties and what they seek to achieve – their designs, unique locations and the natural (raw) elements of the surroundings. With ‘Africa’ we embrace our South African heritage, actively promote our country, and wish to confirm our aim to grow and expand our ‘Boutique Collection’ because this is who we are. Our goal being to ensure that each of our properties retain their individual identity, situated in the most unique settings.”

  • Flagship properties – Sky Villa Boutique Hotel and Villa One @ Sky, as well as The Bungalow and the Bungalow Beach Villa in Plettenberg Bay
  • Spanish Farm Guest Lodge in Somerset West
  • 22 Eikehoff Apartment and The Den Apartments in the university town of Stellenbosch
  • Pringle Bay Villa, on the beach in Pringle Bay
  • The Oubaai Villa situated in the Oubaai golf estate close to George airport

Also included is Plett Summer Villas, an arm of Raw Africa Boutique Collection, established in 2019 to assist luxury homeowners in managing and marketing their properties and enabling individuals to maximise the potential of their property through the expertise of a corporate hospitality management and marketing team. In 2023 yet another milestone will be achieved when the Collection welcomes its very own hotel school – the Garden Route Hotel School.

“Now, as Raw Africa Boutique Collection we will continue setting the benchmark in service excellence, contributing to the industry, investing in skills provision and ensuring that guests receive a world-class experience in South Africa”.
