Seven injured in Marconi Drive, Newcastle Collision

Marconi Drive was a hive of activity on Saturday morning, 19 February 2022, after a taxi and a light motor vehicle collided. 

According to officials on the scene, the collision occurred at 7.40 am, at the intersection of Marconi Drive and Albert Wessels Drive, just outside NN Abattoir, according to officials on the scene.

It is speculated that the taxi was exiting Albert Wessels Drive and turning into Marconi Drive when it collided with the car.

Five people in the taxi were hurt, and two in the car were injured. Thankfully, none of the injuries was life-threatening.

The police investigation is still in full swing, as details surrounding the collision remain hazy. An official on the scene explains that the drivers of both vehicles are blaming each other.

    One thing that i can say out of ecperiance. I’m driving that road every day. Most of the taxis don’t stop when the light is red. Some of them even passes all the cars that want to turn into marconi drive and waiting for the trafic from town and turn right infront of every boday. That happens every day.
