Four people narrowly escaped severe injury following a high-impact collision along the R617, approximately 10km outside Underberg, towards Bulwer.

Underberg Emergency Medical Services (UEMS) said they were called to the high-impact collision involving a bread delivery van and a taxi at 8:40 am on Monday, 13 December 2021.

The taxi was discovered in the dense bush about 100 meters down the road. UEMS points out that fortunately, the taxi was found to have no passengers. “The driver of the taxi sustained moderate injuries and once stabilised on scene by UEMS paramedics, he was transported in a stable condition to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”
