After being savagely beheaded, a six-year-old girl’s life was taken by a heinous human being in the KwaZulu-Natal region.
According to Captain Nqobile Gwala, police spokesperson—on Thursday evening, 25 November 2021, police received a call that a child was killed at KwaSobabili Village in Ntabamhlope, Estcourt. “Upon arrival at the scene, police found the beheaded body of a six-year-old girl lying in a rondavel,” Captain Gwala explains.
The offender is said to have been involved in a fight with the little girl’s uncle not long before the horrendous murder.
Following the altercation, the suspect allegedly departed the house, only to return later that day. He then entered the rondavel where the six-year-old child was sleeping. Not long afterwards, he was seen fleeing the rondavel with a bloodied plastic bag.
The little girl’s family discovered her lifeless body with her head missing. Captain Gwala said the child’s head was found on Friday afternoon by Search and Rescue officers with the help of community members.
Furthermore, a 20-year-old suspect was apprehended for the crime. He will now appear in the Estcourt Magistrates Court for murder later this week.
As the defendant awaits his trial, KZN Social Development MEC Nonhlanhla Khoza said it was difficult to understand how an adult could kill an innocent and defenceless child.
“The gruesome circumstances of this case, where it is said that the child’s head was separated from the body shows that the suspect had planned his act,” said Khoza.
As MEC Khoza condemns the heinous murder and police continue their investigations, what are your thoughts on the matter?
