A courier driver escaped serious injury on Tuesday morning, 12 January 2021 after his vehicle was overturned on Victoria Road.
Shortly after 9 am, the courier driver attempted to turn into a property situated on the road. According to sources on the scene, as the driver slowed down to make his way onto the premises, another motorist hit him from the rear.
The unexpected impact resulted in the courier vehicle flipping onto its side, landing on the pavement. Within minutes of the incident taking place, emergency personnel responded to the motorists. Fortunately, both motorists escaped severe injury, and the police will now investigate the matter.
Motorists are encouraged to be cautious when travelling up Victoria Road, being conscious of one’s speed and vehicle movement on the busy road.
