Unemployment is a stark reality that scores of people face, as they try and establish a life for themselves.

According to StatsSA, the results of the Quarterly Labour Force Survey (QLFS) for the fourth quarter of 2019 indicates the official unemployment rate remained unchanged at 29,1%. The results of the survey show that during this period, the number of employed people increased by 45 000, seeing 16,4 million people now finding employment.

However, there are approximately still 6,7 million people who are still unemployed. As many people face the daunting task of securing employment, there is a glimmer of hope.

As part of its implementation of the Graduate Recruitment Scheme within the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) during the 2020/2021 financial year, the SAPS are advertising the following posts for graduate and student interns.

Posts are being advertised for artisans and administration.

In order to apply, applicants need to meet the following requirements: 

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Must be in possession of National Senior Certificate / Senior Certificate / National Certificate Vocational (level 4).
  • Must have no previous criminal conviction(s) or case(s) pending.
  • Applicants must be unemployed, never employed in the field of the advertised post and never participated in an internship programme relevant to the field of the post.
  • Proof of residential address to be attached.

The closing date for applications is March 13, 2020.
