Tragedy struck on Saturday afternoon, February 1, following a fatal collision on the N11.
Jan-Henk can Vuuren from WATCO Emergency Medical Services explains the incident occurred shortly before 1 pm; when three vehicles collided on the N11 near Kilbarchan.
When Emergency Services arrived on the scene, they found four people had already died, with three more in critical condition.

Newcastle Protection Services had to rapidly extricate two of the occupants that were heavily entrapped in the wreckage. The three injured were rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, two of the injured later died in the hospital, bringing the death toll to six.
The exact cause of the collision is still unknown and investigated by the South African Police Services.
