The war on drugs in Newcastle continues, following a drug bust of epic proportions taking place in town.
Mandrax to the estimated value of R96 000 were seized during a joint operation conducted by the Newcastle K9 unit, Crime Intelligence Unit and Ithemba Security Tracing Team.
Through the three teams working alongside each other, Captain Jabulani Ncube, Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, explains Seargent Thusi and Constable Nkabinde of the Newcastle K9 Unit were able to arrest one suspect for dealing in drugs.
Captain Ncube explains, a vehicle allegedly used in the commission of the suspect’s deals was also seized.
Further investigations are now underway, and the suspect is expected to appear in court.
