Phoenix Cricket Club claims victory over Paradise

An atmosphere of determination fills air at the Arbor Park Sports Grounds. The day has come for the day league to come to an end.

The final match taking place between Newcastle Phoenix Cricket Club and Paradise Cricket Club on Saturday, March 30. The winner will take the league trophy, rising victorious.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Phoenix takes to the pitch. The team ready to dominate the match.

During the time on the pitch, Phoenix amassed a score of 160 runs for the loss of six wickets in 30 overs.

Following Phoenix’s stellar performance, Paradise took to the pitch. Having held onto the day league trophy for two seasons, Paradise was eager to maintain victory over the league. But winning was not on the cards.

Paradise secured 137 runs, resulting in Phoenix winning the match with 24 runs.

The top batsmen for Phoenix are:
Henri Linde scoring 39 runs
Chris Ewart securing 32 runs

The top bowlers for Phoenix are:
Juan Kahts taking four wickets
Chris Ewart clinching three wickets
John Clark taking two wickets

Well done to Phoenix Cricket Club for clinching the win for the day league.
