Newcastle mother videos herself abusing two-year-old son

Newcastillian

A mother’s love for her child is unwavering. So much so, that in a child’s time of need, the first name they call out for is their mother’s.

But what happens when a mother is the source of her child’s pain? What happens when a mother inflicts horrific pain on a child, merely to punish the child’s father?

A Newcastle mother is facing charges of attempted murder, after she recorded herself choking and assaulting her two-year-old son.

The child’s father reported her to the police, after she sent him the videos as a threat to never leave her.

In the two videos, she is seen lying on the bed with the toddler. He is crying hysterically, as his mother repeatedly slaps him on the face. The video gets worse, when she proceeds to smash the child’s face against the bed, before holding his head down, as to suffocate him.

Determined to escape his mother’s rage, the video shows the child managing to wriggle around. This only infuriates the women more. The two-minute video shows the woman turn her child around and choke him.

The video then shows the child standing up, trying to escape. However, his mother grabs him, before pushing him down and trying to choke him. She also pinches the child on his face, thighs and buttocks.

In the second video, she is seen holding the child’s head in between her legs as she rams her fingers down his throat. Through his screams, one can hear him choking. The video also shows her pinching his lips together and placing her hand around his neck.

The videos, which were recorded on January 8, also show her kicking him in the head.

Police spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele says the matter was reported to the Newcastle family violence, child protection and sexual offences unit (FCS). The unit immediately began investigating the matter, arresting the mother and removing the child from her custody.

“The videos are terrible,” says an emotional Captain Nagesh Moothilal of the FCS Unit, who confirms the mother is now facing charges of attempted murder.

Mbhele says the child was taken to hospital for medical treatment and is in his father’s custody at present.

The Newcastillian has seen the video clips. However, they are of such a nature that it cannot be shown in order to protect the child’s identity and because of the mother’s ruthless behaviour.
