A teacher from Zwelinjani High School in Msinga is allegedly on the run, following the death of two high school learners on Saturday, October 27.
Allegedly, he was speeding and under the influence of alcohol while transporting five learners from a sporting event. While driving, his vehicle apparently veered off the road and crashed into a home in the Ehlanzeni area.
The two youngsters died on the scene, while the remaining three were rushed to the hospital.

Colonel Thembeka Mbhele says following the accident, the driver fled the scene on foot. The deceased, a 16 and 19-year-old left on the road with their fellow learners.
Colonel Mbhele claims police officials are still looking for the teacher and a case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
Community members claim the teacher was witnessed racing two other vehicles shortly before the horrific incident.
An eyewitness who wishes to remain anonymous claims the teacher overtook the two cars, before losing control of his vehicle, flying over the rocks and crashing nose-first into one of the homes.
Furthermore, the witness claims liquor bottles were removed from the vehicle and the driver was assisted by other teachers as they allegedly took him to ‘hospital’. The witness claims it is evident they were trying to get him away from the scene before police officials arrived.
Education spokesperson, Muzi Mahlambi says the department is still awaiting further details of the incident.
This collision marks yet another tragic loss in young lives over the past weekend. Another two pupils from Fabeni Primary School died in a collision between Greytown and Keates. The two children were on their way home from a school trip in Durban.
A 14-year-old teenager from Pro Nobis School in Dundee, collapsed while playing soccer on Friday, October 26. He was rushed to the hospital but certified dead on arrival.
What charges do you feel the teacher should face? Is a case of culpable homicide enough or do you feel he should face further consequences?
