Not all superheroes wear a cape. Nor do they necessarily appear in movies or comic books. There are heroes who silently walk among us, ready to literally give a piece of themselves to someone in need.
Organ donors are men and women who selflessly give of their own bodies. Ensuring the lives of others can flourish, even though they the donor are no longer alive.

As August is Organ Donor Month, Mediclinic Newcastle hosted an awareness campaign alongside Coffee Couture on Friday, August 31. On the day, Newcastillians had the opportunity to register as an organ donor.
With the chance to become an organ donor, the community also learned about the process and the importance of signing up.
The Unit Manager of the Medical Ward at Mediclinic Newcastle, Ronel van Dyk, says the support from the community was overwhelming. A staggering 80 new donors registered to become organ and tissue donors.

When signing up, community members could enjoy a cup of coffee for free from Coffee Couture. Allowing them to relax, knowing they started the spring season on a high note. That of promising new life to someone in need.
Well done to all the beautiful souls who signed up to save lives. You are a blessing to the world and the lives you save in the future, will be grateful to you.
