A grisly discovery was made in Trenance Park, Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, on Wednesday, 13 August 2025, when a pair of human hands, severed at the forearms, and an animal tongue was found on the roadside.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), the emergency response team had been called by a paper delivery staff member who reported seeing what appeared to be animal or human limbs wrapped in a bloody white cloth.
“Upon arrival on Oregan Street at 12:12, Reaction Officers discovered two human hands near the boundary wall of a primary school, with an animal tongue found nearby,” explained RUSA.




Following the discovery, Reaction Officers have launched an intensive search of the surrounding area in an effort to locate the rest of the body.
Furthermore, authorities are calling on the public to remain vigilant and to report any information that might aid the investigation.

The incident has triggered increased activity from both the police and Reaction Unit South Africa, with officials working to trace the origin of the remains and uncover the circumstances surrounding the case.
