Emergency calls for assistance came in shortly after 12:00, with urgent alerts dispatched across emergency networks. Reports indicated that the incident involved two trucks and a bakkie.

Tensions escalated when the fire station was summoned amid initial claims that one of the trucks had burst into flames.

Road Angels South Africa confirmed that emergency responders arrived at the scene and closed the road to ensure safety. A representative clarified that, contrary to early reports, the truck had not caught fire but was instead near a veld fire. It was further noted that two individuals sustained injuries and were promptly attended to by paramedics at the scene before being transported to hospital for further treatment.
