Search Underway for Three Missing Newcastle Residents

An urgent appeal has been issued to the public as Ladysmith Detectives embark on a crucial search for a 12-year-old girl who vanished on Monday afternoon, 6 January 2025.

Warrant Officer Basheer Khan, Spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS), elaborated on the distressing circumstances. “Elvine was in the company of her twin sister when she alleged that she was going to her parents’ business in town. She was never seen or heard from thereafter.”

He further explained that the young girl’s cellphone had been switched off.

As law enforcement officials tirelessly scour the area for the missing girl, and her parents anxiously await any news of Elvine, Warrant Officer Khan detailed her appearance at the time of her disappearance: She was wearing black trousers, a white top, and Puma sneakers. Elvine is described as having long black hair, with an average build and height.

Furthermore, the Ladysmith detectives are now earnestly appealing to the public for any information regarding Elvine’s whereabouts. Individuals with pertinent information are urged to contact Sergeant Khanyile at 036 638 3327 or 082 411 7070.
