Traffic flow along the N11 at the Amajuba Pass was dramatically disrupted after a truck carrying a load of coal overturned near O’Neil’s Cottage.
According to reports, the exact circumstances leading to the incident remain unclear, but the large vehicle crashed along the road, coming to a stop on its side.
Road Angels South Africa confirmed that the driver of the truck sustained injuries and emergency medical services arrived on the scene within minutes, stabilised the driver, and transported him to the hospital for further treatment.
While paramedics ensured the driver was stable before taking him to hospital, officials on the scene faced the daunting task of clearing the wreckage. Starz Towing responded quickly to remove the overturned truck, working tirelessly to ensure the massive vehicle no longer posed a threat to passing motorists.
Adding to the chaos, officials also had to clear the vast load of coal scattered across the road when the truck overturned. The scene was a challenging one, with emergency personnel working hard to manage the situation and restore normalcy.
As emergency personnel continue their efforts to clear the debris, motorists are urged to exercise extreme caution when passing through the area.
