On Monday afternoon, 8 April 2024, a chilling event occurred when a driver narrowly escaped disaster. His vehicle skidded off the N11 and plunged into a ditch, highlighting the dangers posed by the wet conditions.

The precise details of the crash are still uncertain. Nonetheless, an official report suggests that the motorist collided with another vehicle, setting off a disastrous series of events. It is believed that the collision’s impact caused the bakkie to be flung from the road, ultimately landing in the roadside ditch.

Miraculously, the second vehicle emerged relatively unscathed from the ordeal, departing the scene shortly after the incident. The driver of the bakkie was reported to have escaped injury as well.

Adding to the day’s accidents, a truck and fuel tanker collided at the N11 Dannhauser crossing.

The specifics of the collision remain unclear, but the incident occurred when the truck and the fuel tanker crashed into each other, ending up on the roadside grass. Emergency services have confirmed that there were no injuries reported.
