The first incident occurred on Saturday night, 2 December 2023, along Madadeni Road.

While the precise details surrounding the collision remain unclear, Chantelle Botha, spokesperson for KwaZulu Private Ambulance, reported that upon the arrival of paramedics at the scene, they discovered five patients in critical condition and five with serious injuries.

Paramedics provided immediate on-site treatment before transferring the injured individuals to the hospital for further medical attention. “Sadly, a young child had sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived,” said Botha.

Furthermore, on Sunday morning, 3 December 2023, KwaZulu Private Ambulance responded to another incident on the N11, Amajuba Pass.

A motorist had lost control of their vehicle, causing it to veer off the road. In this second collision, two individuals sustained serious injuries. Both were promptly treated at the scene before being taken to the hospital.

In light of these distressing events, authorities are urging motorists to strictly adhere to road regulations, emphasising the importance of minimising the risk of involvement in similar incidents.
