First spring rains in Newcastle: SAWS issues weather forecast

With the potential of a thunderstorm looming over Newcastle, SAWS issued a notice concerning a possible stormy weekend and upcoming week (24 September to 27 September 2023) spanning parts of South Africa. This is due to a possible cutoff low system that could bring widespread showers, thunderstorms, and strong winds to western, southern, and central South Africa from Sunday, 24 September 2023.

SAWS highlighted, ” It is, however, worth noting that cutoff lows are difficult to predict, and this is a very advanced outlook so it will most likely change. Updates and forecasts will follow closer to the weekend.”

As rains are predicted, the community is invited to share their thoughts and opinions on the anticipated weather in the comment section below.
