According to an official police source, the harrowing incident occurred shortly before 12 pm while a suspect was in the process of being detained.

As part of the standard procedures, the suspect was handed a pen to sign a document when, to the horror of the officers present, the suspect unexpectedly turned the pen into a weapon and launched a vicious attack.

In a shocking turn of events, the suspect used the pen to stab one of the police officers, leaving the officer in need of immediate medical attention. The injured officer was subsequently hospitalised.

In response to the alarming incident, law enforcement authorities have opened a case of attempted murder against the suspect.

The investigation into the motive behind the attack and the circumstances leading up to the assault is now underway.
