The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, came under law enforcement’s radar after they received a tip off regarding his illicit business operations.

Following this information, Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team’s Imran Ghafoor stated that an operational team was swiftly set up to monitor the suspect’s activities at his business location.

According to Ghafoor, the suspect was operating in the lower Newcastle CBD, close to the taxi rank.

Gathering enough intelligence to build a strong case against the suspect, the operational team decided to take action, bringing his illegal business to an abrupt halt and taking him into police custody.

During the arrest, the team managed to seize a substantial amount of illegal substances. The recovered items included 81 capsules of the highly addictive drug whoonga, 113 parcels of dagga, and 44 bottles of Black Label.

Praising the collaborative effort of the operational team, Ghafoor expressed his gratitude to the Newcastle K9 unit, Newcastle Crime Fighter Team, and Optimus Protection Services for their instrumental role in the successful operation.

This incident serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle against the illegal drug trade and the distribution of unlicensed alcohol. Authorities remain committed to protecting communities from the devastating impact of such activities and vow to continue their efforts in maintaining law and order.
