The spokesperson for KZN Human Settlements and Public Works, Mlungisi Khumalo explained that Soul City is the broader of the Majorisa Settlement within Madadeni and Osizweni.

“The project aims to formalise the dense Soul City to fit a yield of approximately 2000 units to be delivered once construction commences,” said Khumalo.

While the exact date of commencement of construction is to be confirmed, the Department ensured that the previous MEC approved the necessary funds for the land acquisition of the privately owned land back in 2020, with the purpose of enabling development.

“The Premier and I jointly officiated at the announcement of the purchasing of 80 hectares of privately owned patches of land for purposes of housing development.
