Following the release of the 2022 matric results, thousands of learners are ecstatic that their school careers have come to a successful end.

When looking at the Provincial results, KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube heaped praise on the Matric Class of 2022 for surpassing all expectations and achieving an 83% pass rate, an increase of 6.2% from 2021.

According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education, the Amajuba District secured a pass rate of 85.5%.

Moreover, here is a breakdown of the pass rates from the various schools in the district:

Newcastle:

  • Amajuba High School – 100%
  • Ferrum High School – 98.3%
  • Hope High School – 91.9%
  • Islamic College Newcastle – 100%
  • Lincoln Heights Secondary School – 83.4%
  • Newcastle High School – 96.5%
  • Panorama Combined School – 86.3%
  • St Dominics Newcastle – 100%
  • St Oswalds Secondary School – 88.8%

Madadeni:

  • Amadada High School – 70.8%
  • AmaZulu High School –   91.1%
  • Bethamoya High School – 91.1%
  • Dedangifunde High School – 90.4%
  • Duck Ponds High School – 75.6%
  • Ekuseni Secondary School – 87.5%
  • Meridian Newcastle – 95.1%

Osizweni:

  • Buhlebomzinyathi Secondary School – 66.7%
  • Cacamezela Secondary School– 86.4%
  • Osizweni High School – 73.8%

Charlestown:

  • Charlestown High School – 84.3%

Dannhauser:

  • Dannhauser Secondary School – 89.7%
  • Emfundweni High School – 85.7%

Durnacol:

  • DNC Combined School – 85.1%

Utrecht:

  • Emalahleni Combined School – 57.1%
  • Utrecht High School – 80%
  • Enzimane High School – 100%
  • Kwamagidela Secondary School – 100%

Groenvlei:

  • Groenvlei Combined School – 100%
