Emergency services were contacted to help locate the little boy, with Medi Response explaining that its Search and Rescue Division assisted the SAPS Diving and K9 Search and Rescue units in the search for the boy, sadly presumed to have drowned.

The search was eventually suspended on Tuesday, with the search operation resuming on Wednesday, 7 September 2022. However, the search has thus far proved fruitless, despite the efforts of the emergency personnel and law enforcement.
