Newcastle Municipality‘s Acting Municipal Manager, Vish Govender, has retracted his resignation. This comes on the heels of Govender submitting his resignation to the Newcastle Municipality earlier this week.
Following Govender’s resignation, Newcastle Mayor Cllr David Xolani Dube stated that he would continue discussions with the Acting MM, and troika to address the future of Govender’s career at the municipality.
“I have decided to retract my resignation and support the leadership of Newcastle Municipality. It is essential the community of Newcastle is put first and ensuring service delivery remains our key focus,” said Govender during a telephonic interview.
