Simphiwe Mbali Nyawo is surrounded by uncertainty. This comes after her 17-year-old sister, Xoliswa Mtshali, went missing.
Nyawo explains that her teenage sister went missing at approximately 12 pm on Saturday, 23 October 2021. “I am currently studying, and on the day, I was in my room studying for exams when Xoliswa left the house. She said she was going to a friend’s house to do an assignment, but she never arrived at her friend’s home.”
The 17-year-old wore a pink jumpsuit and yellow sundowns when she was last seen. Xoliswa is described by her sister as a friendly and trusting adolescent. Xoliswa is a Grade 11 student at Panorama Combined School.
“This is the second year that she has been living with me, after she enrolled into Panorama. She has never done anything like this before.”
Because of this, when Xoliswa did not return home, Nyawo immediately began looking for her.
The police were also contacted, and an investigation was launched. Xoliswa was last seen at the Aviary Hill Café around 5 pm, according to Nyawo.
Nyawo is desperate to find her sister two weeks later. She is overcome with emotion as she pleads with the community to assist her in locating Xoliswa.
“I just want to find my sister; please help me with any information,” she sobs.
Simphiwe Mbali Nyawo tells Xoliswa, “Whatever you are feeling, please come home.” We’re not mad at you.”
