One dies in collision on infamous R34

The infamous R34 has claimed another life, after a collision between two vehicles saw emergency personnel rushing against time to save those involved in the incident.

Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service explains that on Saturday night, 24 July 2021, it responded to the R34, towards Blood River, on reports of a collision.

When emergency services arrived at the scene, they found that two bakkies had collided

Paramedics discovered three patients, unfortunately, one of the patients had already succumbed to his injuries.

A second person was entrapped in his vehicle and KwaZulu-Private Ambulance had to use the jaws of life to free him. He had sustained serious injuries. A third patient was flung from the bakkie and sustained moderate injuries.

All patients were stabilised on scene before being transported to hospital for further care.
