Newcastle Police Station came under attack on Sunday, 6 June 2021, when a group of Nigerian nationals stormed the station.
According to sources, the incident occurred at approximately 4 pm, after a Nigerian man was arrested for drug possession. During the arrest, a police source claims the suspect supposedly swallowed the bulk of his illegal narcotics and suffered an adverse reaction, resulting in him dying.
Following this, an angry mob stormed the police station. However, their attempts to attack the SAPS were short-lived due to backup being called. When the crowd realised that the officers had sent out a call for assistance, they immediately dispersed.
Both the Newcastle SAPS spokesperson, Lizzy Arumugam, and the Station Commander for the Newcastle station, Colonel Michael Msebenzi Nkosi, were contacted for comment on the matter to determine what steps the police will take following the attack. However, no comment was forthcoming at the time of publication.
Adding to the situation, the police station is currently closed due to a confirmed COVID-19 case. Arumugam explains the police’s community service centre (CSC) is currently operating from the Supply Management (SCM) office, with Newcastillians urged to use the back entrance of the SAPS to gain access to the CSC.

Good evening about this load shedding issue if i remmber well almost 2 yrs ago Jeff hadebe and Ramaphosa went to Dubai and come back with 10 billions rands to bailout eskom and china put another 30 billions for the same eskom Can anybody tell me what has happend to that money
