Four arrested in Newcastle with fake diamonds and thousands in cash

Four suspects are allegedly in police custody after being arrested in Newcastle with fake diamonds and a substantial amount of cash.

According to the Newcastle Crime Fighter task team, police officials received information regarding a syndicate from the Gauteng area in Newcastle. Further information was gathered, with officials from various units attending to the matter. According to reports, these units included the Amajuba District Task Team, Madadeni Rapid Team, Anti-Hijacking Unit and the Newcastle Crime Fighter Task Team.

Four men were apprehended, and upon searching their vehicle, five pieces of fake diamonds, R5000 cash and R 211 300 848 9108 Zim dollars were found.
