Fitness is not some passing fad for Shane Cordier. It is a passion, a lifestyle and career choice which he has dedicated his life to. Seeing him positively change many people’s lives.
Four years ago, Shane became a qualified personal instructor through HFPA Fitness Academy, a premier provider of fitness education in South Africa. An institute which offers accredited, innovative and comprehensive programmes to its learners.
Joining the Planet Fitness team four months ago as a personal trainer, Shane explains his career began years ago.
“I remember joining a gym with some friends, with the intention of just working out. However, I developed a passion for fitness in the process. From there, I started working at a gym, as I wanted to help people reach their fitness and health goals while instilling a passion for fitness in them.”
With his love for fitness, gym and working with people developing, Shane took the necessary steps to study and become a personal trainer. Qualifying nearly four years ago, he is now fulfilling his dream of promoting fitness in Newcastle.
As a personal trainer, what services does Shane offer for those wishing to lead a healthier and fitter lifestyle?
Shane explains that he offers the following services:
- Special needs training
- Muscle building training
- High-intensity interval training
- Weight loss
- General fitness
The costs involved range from R1800 for a couple to R1250 for singles. “I also have special rates for pensioners,” says Shane.
But what difference does a personal trainer make in your gym regime and to your fitness goals?
Shane explains the difference in your training schedule is noticed immediately.
“Having a trainer motivates you to come to the gym and not skip a day, as you know there is someone waiting for you at the gym. Then there is the fact that you have a qualified person to help you create the correct training regime, one which is best suited to your body and needs.”
The difference and advantages don’t end there. Shane elaborates by explaining that personal trainers can assist you in acquiring the necessary knowledge on the correct form and posture required when training.
“The moment you start seeing results, training and fitness becomes a lifestyle and you simply can’t stop,” he adds.
Shane adds training is also a great way to combat depression and anxiety. “Not do you live longer and become healthier by training on a regular basis, but the gym is the best place to fight depression and anxiety. I went through some issues with these and that is why I always encourage people to train.”
Currently training 13 people, Shane says he is able to train more people and help them reach their goals. Be sure to contact Shane on 065 276 5507 in order to prepare yourself for the summer holidays which are just around the corner.
