Drakensberg Primary School has a stellar line-up for the Newcastle community during the month of August.
Come August 8, Andries Vermeulen will be performing in the Drakensberg Primary School Hall.
Andries Vermeulen is a renowned Afrikaans storyteller, singer and television presenter. Coming from an impoverished childhood, Andries Vermeulen captivates his audiences with his comedy, music and storytelling as a way to share hope and spread God’s word.

A source of great inspiration, Andries Vermeulen has travelled to Namibia and Australia, while journeying around South Africa, sharing his talent and message with an array of people.
As he prepares to come to Newcastle, be sure not to miss out on this experience. Tickets are available at the school for R80 per person and the show is set to begin at 6.30pm.

Following Andries Vermeulen’s performance at the school, the Newcastle community can look forward to Drakensberg Primary School’s annual Buitelugfees.
Set to take place on August 24, this is one event which will cater to the community, creating a vibrant atmosphere for all.
On the day, there will be entertainment which will include carnival-type games for children and an array of stalls for the community to enjoy.
The two highlights of the day will be Piet Pompies, who will act as the MC for the day and he will provide entertainment until 7 pm.
Steve Hofmeyr will then take to the stage and perform a series of country songs
The gates will open at 2 pm and tickets are R100 for adults and high school learners. Tickets are also available at the fee of R50 for pensioners and primary school learners. Children under six years old can enter for free.
